Can Focus on Learning The Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) 2020-21 school year benefits will be coming soon!

If you want to be considered for P-EBT Benefits for the 2020-2021 school year, please apply for free/reduced-price meals with your child’s school before February 28, 2021. If you are already receiving SNAP or MFIP, you do not need to act.
Si desea participar de los beneficios de P-EBT durante el año escolar 2020-2021, solicite comidas gratuitas o a menor precio en la escuela de su hijo antes

Our goal is to provide valuable information about our schools. Madelia is located on the Watonwan River in south central Minnesota.  Located 100 miles southwest of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metro area at the intersections of Minnesota Highway 15 and 60, Madelia is easily accessible from all parts of the state and midwest region.     

The Madelia Public Schools consist of two schools:

Madelia Elementary (Grades VPK-6) and Madelia High School (Grades 7-12).

Madelia School Board Meetings

Independent School District 837 is guided by a seven-member School Board that provides forward-thinking leadership to the Madelia Public School System. Members serve four-year terms and are elected by school district residents

The Madelia School Board meets regularly at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in the Madelia High School Conference Room or the Madelia High School Cafeteria. Meetings are open to the public. If you have questions or concerns regarding the meetings, please contact Superintendent Tom Ames at 507-273-0135.
