READY…….SET……GROW!!
The Early Childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid learning and growth. Early Childhood Screening is a quick and simple check of how your child is doing at age 3 1/2 or 4. It identifies, at an early age, possible health or learning concerns, so that children can get help before starting school.
Minnesota State Law requires every child to complete a developmental screening BEFORE entering Kindergarten.
Early Childhood Screening is offered twice a year October (Fall) & then again in January (Winter).
Fall screening takes place in October
Winter screening takes place in January
Screening is held at the Madelia Elementary School, 121 East Main St., in Rooms 108 & 109 & is FREE of charge.
Appointment letters are sent to parents of children in this age group with an appointment time.
*Children are only required to attend this screening ONCE before kindergarten entrance.
*Students that have already had similar screening through Head Start or Child & Teen Checkups may not need to participate.
If your child is in this age range and has not completed Early Childhood Screening, please call
