I am Ms. Mel as my students call me. I am the SLD special education teacher for first through fourth grade students at Madelia Elementary. This will be my second year teaching. Stepping into the classroom has made me want to go back to get my license. 

I graduated from Madelia High School and went to Bethany Lutheran College for exercise science initially. After graduating with my bachelors from BLC I then got into coaching and saw the opportunity to become a teacher. After my first year last year I decided to go back to school. I am now a graduate student at Minnesota State University, Mankato for my ABS license. I love working with my students and watching them learn new things everyday and build their confidence!!
