Madelia High School Students attend the 2024 Tour of Manufacturing
Thirty-one Madelia High School students attended the 2024 Tour of Manufacturing Event on Thursday, October 4th. Students toured Industrial Fabrication Services (IFS) in Lake Crystal to learn more about custom made metal projects. Students then traveled to Dotson Iron Castings in Mankato to tour the foundry and machining processes that go into their ductile iron operations. After a break for lunch, students traveled to Minnesota State University Mankato and connected with instructors in the Automotive Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering departments to learn about training, careers and programming of 3D printing machines and robotics. A final stop at Taylor Label Works in North Mankato resulted in learning about the process from sales to production to shipping of label products and a tour of their facility. Students who attended were part of the Ag Electricity and Plumbing, Ag Metals and Welding and Seminar Work Program classes.
