We had 4 of our talented students compete this weekend!
Our Senior Nathan Barbosa competed in the category Prose again this weekend with an original piece. Prose is a serious interpretation of a novel that a student spends weeks, or in Nathans case, months writing and adapting. This weekend, Nathan made it to finals and placed 3rd  in the Varsity final!
Harmony Kreel, a sophomore this year, is coming back to speech this year in the category of Creative Expression. Harmony is an extremely talented writer. She composed a heartfelt poem that left the room in awe. Harmony did not final but was give a rank of 3rd, 5th and 5th.
Elizabeth Karau, a freshman and a veteran to speech is competing in Dramatic Interpretation this weekend. Dramatic Interpretation is a dramatic performance of a published work. To say Lizzy was made from Dramatic Interpretation is an understatement and she truly encompasses her characters to pull in her audience. Elizabeth did not final but was given a rank of 4th, 3rd, and 4th.
Leigha Sorenson, a 7th grader competed this weekend for the second time! Leigha competed in Humorous Interpretation. This category’s goal is to make others laugh within the parameters of a well selected script. She is a natural in this category and impressed everyone with how quickly she learns and adapts to competition. Leigha did not final but was given a rank of 5th, 5th and 5th.
Another beautiful weekend for little Madelia High School Speech!
